"DON'T RELENT, KEEP TRYING" - OBASANJO HAS A NEW MESSAGE FOR NIGERIANS

"DON'T RELENT, KEEP TRYING" - OBASANJO HAS A NEW MESSAGE FOR NIGERIANS

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has charged Nigerians to be keep hope alive, saying that the country will indeed get over its multifarious challenges and move to the phase of real progress.

Obasanjo said, “I know that those thinking that Nigeria has no future will today have a change of hearts. This is because one person, Chief Afe Babalola, has been able to make a difference in the field of education.

“The other time, I heard Chief Afe Babalola saying that education is the best instrument to fight poverty. But I want to add that it remains the best instrument to sustain good governance and democracy”.

Obasanjo stated this while being conferred with an honorary award of Doctor of Science at the convocation of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, on Monday. He also said the Founder of the University, Chief Afe Babalola had proved that education remained the most veritable weapon for the sustenance of good governance and democracy.

Obasanjo also advised students to be good ambassadors, saying: “You have had a good beginning having graduated from a good university, but this is not enough. You have to build on it and if you don’t , the good beginning becomes nothing”.
