Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, has won the Football Supporters’ Federation Player of the Year.

The Argentina international won the 2014 award ahead of team-mate Yaya Toure, Raheem Sterling, Morgan Schneiderlin and Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and Branislav Ivanovic.

Aguero has begun this season in fine form and already has 12 league goals to credit. The former Atletico Madrid man has netted five times in the Champions League, including last week’s hat-trick against Bayern Munich.

“Very honoured to receive the Player of the Year award from the Football Supporters Association,” Aguero wrote on Twitter afterwards.
