As
results from the House of Assembly primaries nationwide continue to trickle in,
information from the Odogbolu area of Ogun state has it that the outcome in the
area is not going down well with many of the electorate, especially the youths.
Contrary
to the report that the All Progressives Congress’ Dayo D1 Adeneye lost the
primary election, sources claim an unpopular candidate was imposed during a
nocturnal meeting on the eve of the primary which allegedly never took place as
aspirants were allocated by party chieftains.
Angered
by the development, aggrieved APC supporters have vowed to vote against the
party if the trend of imposition of unpopular figures persists.
They
wondered why Dayo Adeneye, the one who arguably brought back the fame of APC to
Odogbolu when he declared his intentions some two months ago, was treated in an
unfair manner.
DAILY
POST gathered that the battle in Odogbolu has always been between SDP and the
PDP before now until D1’s foot soldiers went round from house to house to
mobilize the residents to register and to vote as well as support the frontline
entertainment guru.
A
source close to the businessman however said “Dayo Adeneye remains and will
always be loyal to APC and would do all in his capacity to ensure his party’s
success at the upcoming election.”
Mr.
Adeneye is yet to officially react to the result of Tuesday’s primary.
