2014 World Cup: “The Super Eagles will make history in Brazil” – Odegbami

Former captain of the Nigerian national team, Segun Odegbami, has expressed his confidence in the current crop’s ability to make history at the 2014 World Cup.

Odegbami, who won the 1980 African Nations Cup on home soil, watched the Super Eagles’ final training session before they departed Jacksonville for Brazil and was full of praise for their hunger and work ethic.

He said: “I like what I saw at the training ground, the hunger of the boys, the confidence they displayed and the way and manner the coaching crew conducted themselves.

“Something tells me history is in the making with this team.”

Hosts Brazil take on Croatia in the opening game on Thursday, while Nigeria face Iran in their first game on June 16.
