“One Of Ferguson’s Biggest Mistakes Was Letting Pogba Go” – Zidane

Real Madrid and France legend, Zinedine Zidane, has stated that one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s biggest mistakes during his Manchester United tenure, was allowing Paul Pogba leave.

Zidane feels allowing the talented midfielder to leave for Juventus in 2012, after failing to agree a new deal was wrong, because he could have been the perfect replacement for Paul Scholes.

“The word ‘mistake’ is not something you would normally associate with Alex Ferguson’s time at Manchester United,” Zidane told The Sunday Mirror.

“But I do think it was a mistake letting Paul Pogba leave.

“He will go on to be one of the best central midfield players in Europe and he was the natural successor to Paul Scholes, someone they could have built the team around.
Pogba, who was recently crowned ‘Golden Boy’ – best young player in Europe for December, is enjoying a fantastic season in Serie A and has scored five times in 22 appearances for the Turin side.

Zidane also hinted at a possible move for the French international.

He said: “He is with Juventus and doing very well but, as always, Real Madrid will be looking to add the best players in the world.”
