The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has lambasted former vice president, Atiku Abubakar for leaving the party after benefiting hugely from it.
Atiku, after joining
the All Progressives Congress (APC), took a swipe on the ruling PDP, describing
the party, under which he served as vice President for eight years, as the
problem of Nigeria.
But the ruling party,
through a statement by its spokesman, Oliseh Metuh, said it was shocked by what
it described as bitter statements by the party’s former members.
Replying the former
Vice President and other defectors, PDP said it is “shocked and surprised at
statements by the APC and opposition leaders including former Vice President,
Atiku Abubakar, wherein they have continued to pour vituperations and heap
blames on the PDP.
