State Police detectives at the Delta
State Police Command, CID department have arrested a housewife identified as
Maureen Muka for allegedly attacking a 23 year-old rival girlfriend of her
husband and inflicting severe injuries on her.
According to LEADERSHIP, the victim,
Philomena (surname withheld) was allegedly attacked in the hotel room with
broken bottles by the suspect. Police public relations officer in the state,
DSP Celestina Kalu, confirmed the arrest of the housewife on Friday [May 17]
evening along Asaba-Okpanam road, adding that the suspect allegedly attacked
the victim with dangerous weapons after she and her husband were caught pants
down.
The suspect was said to have beamed her searchlight on her husband, a lecturer in one of the higher institutions in Okpanam community accused of sleeping with his female students especially those between 21 and 23. The bubble burst when the suspect was called on her mobile phone drawing her attention to a hotel where the husband and a suspected female student had entered. She drove down to the hotel where she allegedly spotted her husband and the girl moving into one of the hotel rooms.
In a fury, she beat the security officer who had attempted to prevent her and allegedly inflicted injuries on her. The PPRO said investigation into the incident is in progress.
