Despite the ongoing hurricane sweeping through the Peoples Democratic, Party, PDP, the Deputy Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, has stated that he had no plan of dumping his party for the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Ihedioha made this known at a media and constituency briefing in his country home, Mbutu, Aboh Mbaise local council area of Imo State.
According to him, “It is impossible for me to abandon the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for any other political party. I am a foundation member of the PDP and worked very hard to build it”, Ihedioha said.
While expressing regrets that some detractors had continued to spread rumour of his alleged plan to defect to the opposition camp, he called on Imo people to avoid activities and statements that could heat up the polity.
Addressing Aboh Mbaise and Ngor Okpala people, the lawmaker declared that as a federal legislator, he had initiated and completed more projects than any other representative the state could boast of.
He further explained that he had passionate desire to alleviate the sufferings of the masses, as well as develop his constituency and Imo State at large.
“Apart from initiating and completing roads, electricity and water projects in Mbaise and Ngor Okpala federal constituency, I have provided jobs for 196 youths, with varying certificates from National Diploma to doctorate degrees”, Ihedioha said.
