David Mark Is Not A Fool, He Will Create Apa State – Aide Tells Idoma Nation

Director, Media and Publicity, David Mark Campaign Organization, Adakole Elijah has called on the Idoma nation not to lose hope regarding the creation of Apa State.
He stated that President of the Senate and the Okpokpowulu of Idomaland, Senator David Mark would surely make the dream come true.

Adakole was reacting to an open letter written to the Senate President by one Ali Adoyi Abah and posted on the Idoma People of Nigeria’s page on Facebook on Sunday.
The writer in the missive described the almost fourteen years of Mark in the senate as a waste, saying that Mark has not used his office to impact on his people positively.

According to visibly embittered Adoyi, “In his complete negligence of Idoma land, Mark has failed in his many years as a lawmaker to lobby for the revival of Owukpa coal. The coal that is deposited in the small community in Ogbadibo Local government is unbelievable, and Mark is not oblivious of this fact, yet he has remained mum over bringing such issues up as a lawmaker and as the number 3 man who is capable of affecting his community positively. The coal has remained untapped, lying wasted.

“A trip to Otukpo via the only federal road can best justify my position. Nobody, not even his fellow Senators will ever believe that the Otukpo- Makurdi road leads to Mark’s own town. NO! You won’t believe it. Go to Mark’s own community and you can tell yourself the rest of the story. Each time, Mark talks about his Joy FM in Otukpo and he begins to boast of job creation, I just laugh. Most of the programs being run by the Marks ‘campaign’ station are being handled by his political manipulators…no hard feelings. It’s simply their time, but they should remember that the Alekwu-ki-Idoma will ask them questions for their continuous deception of the poor Idoma people. The Otukpo people are dying of cholera everyday due to lack of good water, yet that’s where Mark got his highest votes as a Senator, unless he wants to deny the fact that Otukpo people voted for him.

The further avowed that, “We are waiting for ‘Mark’ of hope against hopelessness. We are becoming so impatient as time is no longer on our side as we are beginning to lose the elastic limit of our patience.”

Reacting to the article via IPN’s page, Adakole maintained that the retired soldier is not a fool, noting that the creation of Apa State was on his top agenda.

Hear him, “SP (Senate President) had consistently maintained that if a state must be created, it must be Apa State. And that was what he told us during his electioneering campaign. Wait until a state is created and it is not Apa state, then you can explode. He is not a fool and that is why he put up and single handedly funded the movement of the creating of Apa State. It was us who shot ourselves on the leg despite his guide.”

Speaking further, Adakole added that, “Mark didn’t promise Apa State 10 years ago. He worked for the creation of Apa State unsuccessfully right from his military days. He promised if given the mandate, he will work for the creation of Apa State. He also said that if a state is to be created, it will be Apa state. As soon as he became the Senate President, he instituted the Movement for the creation of Apa State. He funded it. Only few people contributed in terms of finance. They are: Chief Mike Okibe Onoja who gave us N1M, Hon. John Ngede N50,000, Sam Ode a bus and a very few others. We put up a fantastic proposal, which was submitted to the national assembly 2011. The rest is now history but I will tell you why the committee failed in this great assignment as discussion continue. We only want Apa State on paper but was not ready to work for it. I am the secretarial secretary so I know much about it. We should not expect Mark to do those small, small and mundane things for us. We should be ready to sacrifice but in this case, the opposite was the case.

On scholarship, go and ask Prof Alachi and you will see the details. Several thousand people had benefited.

“If you don’t apply how would you benefit? He questioned.
