A leading Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP, aspirant in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore,
yesterday, declared that he was on a rescue mission to save the people of the
state from the alleged mal-administration of governor Rauf Aregbesola.
Speaking at a special rally organised by PDP in Osogbo, Senator Omisore
described the three-year rule of governor Aregbesola as wasted.
He urged the people of the state not
to despair, saying that if elected next year as the governor of the state, he
would correct all the mistakes of the past allegedly committed by the present
administration.
While addressing the gathering, Senator Omisore accused the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Resident Electoral Commissioner for the state, Mr. Rufus Akeju of alleged plot to favour the ruling APC with complicated voters’ register review exercise that would commence across the state tomorrow.
Addressing the gathering, PDP National Secretary, Professor Wale Oladipo assured that the National Working Committee of the party would give Osun State chapter the needed support, but harped on party loayalty and discipline by leaders and party loyalists.
In his remarks, the state chairman
of the party, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa said the people of the state were
tired of the administration of Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, adding they were only
waiting for PDP to put its house in order and re-claim power it lost to the
ruling APC in 2010.
He urged members to participate actively in the voters’ register review exercise that would commence, Thurday, December 5.
