Oya, let start this way. Have you by
any chance come across what the biggest {peradventure} financier of People’s
Democratic Party {PDP} in the South West, the Ogun state-born fraud-taunted
Prince Buruji Kashamu said about a prominent leader of the leading opposition
party in the country? Precisely in the Vanguard news paper where he was quoted
as saying “...We need political soldiers in South West to challenge Tinubu, and
to win, Tinubu is the number 1 enemy -Prince Buruji Kashamu. What does the
above signify? Before now, ex-President and leader of the ruling People’s
Democratic Party {PDP}, Chief Olusegun Okikiola Aremu Obasanjo had insinuated
inter alia in his treatise to the incumbent president and his godson, President
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan that the latter had snipers who were undergoing
training outside the country purportedly to kill and maim perceived enemies and
foes of the number 1 man in the country. Shortly after the 18-paged letter was
released, the social media was awash with different views from analysts, rabble
rousers, commentators and what have you.
And hitherto the tide is yet to die
down on the brouhaha created by Ebora Owu’s {Obasanjo} letter, with different
individuals coming out to name their number on the said watch-list. Rivers state
‘stubborn’ boy, Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi was the first to opine he top
the list, while Mallam Nasri El-Rufai, former FCT Minister said {only 2 days
ago} tweeted he’s number 7 on the list, and that prominent leaders of the All
Progressive Congress, like Chief Bisi Akande, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and others
also make the list. That said, I think this whole thing seems more of an
idiosyncrasy in our political hegemony than all these rhetoric. Governments in
the past had been alleged to have had one ‘killer squad’ or the other. Remember
the letter-bomb that the killed the foremost journalist and writer, Dele Giwa
in the 80’s under former military president and Head of State, Ibrahim Badamasi
Babangida {IBB}. Who were those that carried out the attack? The case of late
{Gen} Sani Abacha with Major Hamza Al-Mustapha as the arrowhead still ‘grin
grin’ in the ears, needless to mention Obasanjo’s regime which was fretted with
several political killings. Chiefs Marshal Harry, Bola Ige {a sitting
Arttoney-General of the Federation}, Alfred Rewane among others.
So, if by any means the veracity of
the allegation that president Jonathan now have people, mainly from the State
Security Service {SSS} sent to Republic of Korea to train as snipers is
confirmed , I think honestly he is just following the footsteps of his
predecessors. Although there also
insinuations from some quarters that with the recent move on snipers training
by the president, coupled with geared efforts to have a military base in the
oil-rich Niger Delta, he {President Goodluck} may be pushing for possible
secession in the eventuality of his come-back dream killed, Nigerians are not and
should not be perturbed really by such move in as much as their safety is
guaranteed. The need for a concerted efforts against ‘mobutusesekoism’ in the
land can only become fundamentally germane when poor people like me and other
less privileged Nigerians are being targeted. So, Goodluck Jo, ‘carry go jooor’.
Wait o, did i just say President Goodluck should ‘carry go’? Eeyah, what I
actually meant to say was that, ‘Ogagun Goodluck, go on soun jare.’
